On Shabbat morning, May 18, we will celebrate the second day of Shavuot at
the Havurah of South Florida minyan, which meets at 10:00 a.m. at the
University of Miami Hillel House. The service will be led by Marsha Cohen.
After the Torah reading by Jeffrey Shoulson and the Torah study led by Phyllis
Levy, we will have a Yizkor memorial service, which will begin around noon and
last for about 20-30 minutes, concluding with Etz Chayim Hee and Aleinu.
This gives us the opportunity for a non-rushed Yizkor and also allows anyone
not reciting Yizkor who wishes to leave the opportunity to do so with a minimum of

study session on the Book of Ruth, which is customarily read on Shavuot,
facilitated by Marsha Cohen. Please bring a Chumash or TaNaKh if you
Tikkun Leyl Shavuot: On Thursday evening, May 16, from 8:30 PM until
????? (dawn!), Havurah will join with Temple Beth Or at 11715 SW 87 Avenue, in the
observance of the kabbalistic custom of studying all night on the first night
of Shavuot. Discussions of diverse topics will be led by various members of both
Beth Or and Havurah. Join in the study for all or any part of the night. Bring
snacks to share.
